Top Gear USA Presentation

Intro:
Top Gear is a leading UK TV hit motoring show which recently launched in the USA. With three brand new presenters it states that it's not just for petrol heads and car enthusiasts alike. It's set to have a huge following amongst people with little or no interest in cars - both male and female.

Concept:
Following the programme's successful launch in the USA the BBC Worldwide EMEIA team had the requirement for a cross platform application encompassing HD video footage, high end content and imagery which could be supplied and distributed easily and viewed on any laptop or mobile device which would be used to directly sell the programme to BBC partners and broadcasters alike.

Process:
The information with the proposed presentation had to be well architected in advance so that we covered all platforms and were able to support users on PC, MAC and the handheld tablet (iPad).

Following successful UX (user experience) approved designs were produced (thanks to Measure) which adhered to the brand guidelines then showed proposed animations and layout. Construction and the fine-tuning of development was undertaken with great care to ensure that all expected functionality was implemented across the multiple platforms along with the addition of both downloadable and optimised streaming HD video content so that there was no waiting or lag even on a 3G network was imperative.

Result:
The final product was widely distributed and worked incredibly effectively for BBC Worldwide, breaking new ground and giving new avenues to supplying and distributing internal and sales presentations with HD content instantly.
